Yokogawa’s process-analyzer catalogue has been noticeably quiet on new SKUs through the first seven months of 2026. The 2026 press-release page lists no fresh gas-analyzer, gas-chromatograph, or liquid-analyzer hardware announcement. The TDLS8000 in-situ tunable diode laser spectrometer, its TDLS8100/8200 probe-type siblings, the TDLS8220 extractive variant, the GC8000 process gas chromatograph, and the FLXA402 four-wire liquid analyzer paired with the SA11 SENCOM smart adapter all remain the frontline products they were at the end of 2025.

The story of what has changed is a strategic one, not a product one. Yokogawa is bolting on software-based emissions monitoring where it previously sold only hardware, and it is refreshing the measurement portfolio around the analyzer stack rather than inside it.

The CMC Solutions PEMS deal

On 16 February 2026, Yokogawa signed a global sales and service agreement with CMC Solutions covering CMC’s predictive emission monitoring systems, or PEMS. Under the deal Yokogawa handles marketing, deployment, and support worldwide, with the explicit goal of extending PEMS beyond the U.S. base of more than 100 existing sites. The target industries are chemicals, petrochemicals, oil and gas, and power generation - the same sectors Yokogawa already serves with continuous emission monitoring systems (CEMS) and process gas chromatographs.

PEMS is a soft-sensor approach. Instead of pulling a sample stream through a dedicated analyzer, it uses regression and statistical models built on process variables the control system is already measuring - pressures, temperatures, flows, fuel composition - to predict stack concentrations of NOx, CO, SO2, and related species. CMC’s system generates the regulator-format electronic reports required by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and equivalent bodies. Where a plant qualifies to use PEMS as a certified or backup monitor, the capital and maintenance cost sits well below a hardware CEMS train, particularly on smaller emission points where the analyzer amortisation is punishing.

For Yokogawa the deal is a portfolio extension without an R&D bill. It also plugs a real gap: the OpreX Analyzers family had strong hardware coverage for stack O2, CO, and combustibles via TDLS, and for combustion tuning via GC, but no in-house PEMS product. CMC brings a proprietary statistical engine and a deployed reference list; Yokogawa brings the distribution, service network, and the DCS integration story into CENTUM VP.

The commercial tension worth watching: PEMS partly substitutes for the hardware CEMS revenue Yokogawa’s own analyzer business earns. The company has decades of hardware CEMS experience, and the framing in the release is “hybrid” rather than replacement - PEMS as backup to CEMS, PEMS on emission points where hardware is uneconomic, PEMS where regulators allow it as primary. For plants already running Yokogawa CEMS on major stacks, PEMS on ancillary points is additive rather than cannibalising.

Around the analyzer stack: the EJX S transmitter refresh

Ten days after the CMC announcement, Yokogawa released the OpreX Pressure Transmitter EJX S Series. This is not an analyzer, but it sits in the same measurement portfolio and is often specified alongside process-analyzer projects for sample-conditioning-loop pressure references and safety loops.

The EJX S headline numbers are ±0.025% accuracy on the /HAC specification code, ±0.1% long-term stability quoted over 20 years, and 400:1 rangeability. The transmitter carries HART and PROFINET protocol support, NAMUR NE107-compliant alert indications on a colour backlit display, SIL2 compliance, IP68 protection, and a modular design intended to reduce the number of variant models a plant has to stock. On the sustainability side Yokogawa emphasises modular end-of-life and reduced manufacturing CO2. This is a portfolio refresh rather than a category creation - the EJX line has been in the field since the mid-2000s - but it is the more meaningful of the two 2026 measurement announcements to date.

What the WT1500 does not tell you about process analyzers

The most eye-catching Yokogawa product of the July news cycle was the WT1500 Precision Power Analyzer, released by the Test & Measurement subsidiary on 22 July 2026. It measures up to 2,000 V DC directly with ±0.038% total power accuracy in a 2U rack chassis, and is aimed at electrified-vehicle inverters, energy-storage systems, and renewable power-conversion benches. It is worth flagging here only to head off the assumption that this is a process-analyzer story: it is not. Yokogawa T&M is a distinct business from the Control Business’s OpreX Analyzers, and the WT series does not touch industrial chemistry or emissions.

The financial backdrop

Yokogawa reported FY2025 results - the fiscal year ended 31 March 2026 - on 7 May 2026. Full-year revenue was reported at 604.83 billion yen, up 7.54% year on year, with net earnings up 11.49% to 58.11 billion yen. Measuring Instruments orders picked up on AI-data-centre-driven demand for precision electrical test, but that segment is the T&M electrical business, not the Control Business’s process-analyzer line. The Q1 FY2026 print covering April to June 2026 is expected in early August and will be the first read on whether the CMC PEMS pipeline has begun to flow into orders.

Reading the line as it stands

For process-plant buyers the practical picture in mid-2026 is unchanged on the hardware side. TDLS remains the flagship for in-situ combustion oxygen, carbon monoxide, and methane at the burner face, with the TDLS8200 probe consolidating three species into a single installation point and the TDLS8220 handling extractive service. The GC8000, with its GCAI predictive-maintenance overlay Yokogawa introduced in 2023, is the go-to for multi-component compositional analysis on refinery and petrochemical trains. The FLXA402/SA11 SENCOM pairing covers pH, ORP, conductivity, and turbidity with digital sensor identification and hot-swap calibration.

Where the line still has no in-house answer is process Raman for chemistry-specific molecular fingerprinting. Yokogawa customers pair the DCS with third-party probes from Endress+Hauser Raman Rxn, Bruker/Tornado, MarqMetrix, or smaller specialists such as Gekko Photonics. That gap has not closed in 2026 either.

The takeaway for procurement teams working on 2026 projects is not to expect a hardware refresh in the OpreX Analyzers family this year. What is worth requesting from Yokogawa account managers now is a PEMS scoping conversation on any stack or vent where a full CEMS train is disproportionate to the regulatory need, and clarity on how the CMC engine will sit alongside existing CENTUM VP data historians.
