Anton Paar, the privately held Graz-based instrument maker, entered the second half of 2025 with two new process sensor product lines aimed at concentration monitoring in industrial and food-and-beverage applications. The launches add breadth to an inline portfolio that already covers density, sound velocity, viscosity, and carbonation under a single transmitter platform, and extend the company’s entry points at different price tiers.

The company also completed structural moves during the period: new regional subsidiaries in Argentina, the United Arab Emirates, and Chile, and a management handover in January 2025 that saw Jakob Santner and Dominik Santner become joint Managing Directors of Anton Paar GmbH, with Friedrich Santner moving to Chairman of the group’s executive board.

L-Rix 2100 and 3100: compact footprint for Brix monitoring

Anton Paar introduced the L-Rix 2100 and L-Rix 3100 in May 2025. Both are compact inline refractometers measuring at 114 mm by 34 mm - more than three times smaller than comparable instruments in their segment, according to the company. The measurement principle is refractometry with a Brix accuracy of plus or minus 0.15 degrees Brix. The two models target metalworking coolant concentration, aqueous polymer quenching fluids, and food processing lines where frequent Brix monitoring is required.

The L-Rix 2100 and 3100 sit below Anton Paar’s established L-Rix 5000/5100/5200 range, which remains in the line for higher-precision or more demanding environments. The new instruments are positioned as accessible options where Brix checks are needed on lower-criticality streams without requiring integration into a higher-tier sensor platform. The physical size reduction is significant for retrofitting into existing pipe runs where space around process connections is constrained.

Cobrix 5501 to 7601: fourth-generation beverage analyzers

The Cobrix inline beverage analyzer series moved to a new generation in mid-2025, with four models: 5501, 5601, 7501, and 7601, replacing the 5500 and 5600 generation. The new lineup measures Brix, diet content, CO2 (via pressure-temperature or optical methods depending on model), total acidity, alcohol content, sugar inversion, conductivity, and color. The 7501 and 7601 add dissolved oxygen measurement.

The 7501 and 7601 use a dual-measurement approach for diet content that Anton Paar says delivers response times up to ten times faster than the previous generation and reduces calibration frequency. The 5601 and 7601 are described as fully maintenance-free. The evaluation unit can be placed up to 250 metres from the sensor, which is relevant for filling halls where the sensor is in the production area and the electronics cabinet is in a protected room. The system connects to Anton Paar’s Davis 5 software and supports fieldbus options including Ethernet variants.

Anton Paar’s Cobrix series serves the brewing and soft-drink industries almost exclusively. Faster diet-content response is relevant in continuous fill-and-check lines where product transitions occur quickly and the line cannot wait for the previous measurement to settle.

The core industrial process platform

No new model launches were announced for Anton Paar’s central industrial process sensors during this period. The L-Dens 7400 and 7500 inline density meters, the L-Vis 510 and 520 viscometers, the L-Com 5500 combined density-and-sound-velocity sensor, and the L-Sonic 5100 and 6100 sound velocity sensors continue on current specifications. All connect to the Pico 3000 transmitter, which supports HART, Modbus RTU, PROFIBUS DP, PROFINET IO, analog, and frequency outputs.

This platform stability contrasts with the refresh cycles running at some adjacent vendors during the same window. Endress+Hauser consolidated its Raman Rxn probe naming scheme through late 2025, and ABB bundled a CCUS analyzer package alongside AI-wrapped automation products in early 2026. Metrohm advanced ISO 18127 for combustion ion chromatography and opened a Houston applications facility in the same period. For the inline density and viscosity core, Anton Paar’s approach appears to be platform consolidation and peripheral expansion rather than hardware iteration.

Organizational developments

Anton Paar entered 2025 with two new regional subsidiaries - Argentina and the United Arab Emirates, both effective January 1, 2025 - and simultaneously reported record annual sales for the prior year. The Argentina subsidiary covers Argentina, Uruguay, and Paraguay; the Abu Dhabi office is the company’s first presence in the Middle East, with a workshop and showroom laboratory. A Chilean subsidiary became effective January 1, 2026, with Yerko Tobar as general manager. Tobar had previously managed the distribution partnership in the country.

A new 6,000 square metre production facility for Anton Paar ProveTec - the petroleum testing instruments unit formerly known as Petrotest - opened in Blankenfelde-Mahlow, south of Berlin, in July 2025. The building consolidates three previously separate locations and hosted the assembly of its first flash-point tester within four weeks of opening. The company also opened a 5,000 square metre Asia-Pacific technical centre in Shah Alam, Malaysia, in January 2025, housing dedicated laboratories for polymers, plastics, food and feed, and XRD.

Anton Paar remains privately held by the Santner Foundation. No revenue figures for 2024 or 2025 have been officially announced. The most recently confirmed publicly available figures - approximately €587 million for the Anton Paar GmbH entity and around €618 million for the consolidated group in 2023 - come from business registry filings cited by industry databases, not from Anton Paar press releases.

The broader process analytics market in the first half of 2026 saw mixed vendor results, with capital expenditure deferrals in chemicals and life sciences weighing on order intake across several listed instrument makers. Anton Paar, as a private company, has not disclosed whether those patterns affected its own intake.
