The Tornado Spectral Systems brand has been retired. The tornado-spectral.com domain now redirects to Bruker’s corporate site, and Bruker’s process Raman product page lists the HyperFlux PRO Plus, Process Guardian, and SuperFlux analyzers as Bruker offerings with no Tornado branding on the page. The acquisition closed in January 2024; the visual rebrand has completed in 2026.
Bruker’s page presents the three analyzers - benchtop SuperFlux, pilot-tier HyperFlux PRO Plus, and the production-floor Process Guardian - as a single portfolio inside its Raman product line. The HTVS (high-throughput virtual slit) optical architecture that defined Tornado as an independent vendor is now described as a Bruker technology. The original Toronto product team continues to operate under the Bruker umbrella; the customer-facing distinction is gone.
Timegate Instruments has taken the opposite route. The Finnish picosecond time-gated Raman specialist remains independent and announced on 18 March 2026 a partnership with analyticon instruments to distribute its Timegated Raman platform across Central Europe, with joint exhibition at analytica 2026 in Munich. The company also published OPC UA compliance for its flagship spectrometer in October 2025 and a peer-reviewed CHO cell-culture sensitivity study in Bioprocess and Biosystems Engineering on 20 December 2025 (DOI 10.1007/s00449-025-03261-y), reporting consistently higher signal-to-noise than traditional Raman across all five tested analytes.
For buyers, the practical effect is procurement-shaped. Tornado quotes, support contracts, and roadmap discussions now flow through Bruker channels - which simplifies sourcing inside multi-instrument Bruker accounts and complicates it for sites that previously preferred a smaller-vendor relationship. Timegate retains the single-vendor profile and adds a Central European route to market that did not previously exist; sites in DACH and the Nordics evaluating fluorescence-heavy chemistries (see our bioprocess Raman analyzer review and the inline Raman buyer’s guide) can now reach the platform through analyticon’s local support presence rather than direct from Oulu.
